Vatican – Fr. Parravano Marino SDB appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Caracas

(ANS –Vatican City) – The Holy Father Pope Francis appointed the parish priest of San Juan Bosco parish in Altamira, Fr. Enrique José Parravano Marino, SDB, as auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Caracas, Venezuela, giving him the episcopal titular see of Isola.

Fr. Parravano Marino was born in Turmero, diocese of Maracay, on November 8th, 1955. He entered the Salesian novitiate of “San Antonio de los Altos” in 1973, pronounced his perpetual vows in the Society of St. John Bosco on August 30th, 1980 and was ordained a priest on January 14th, 1984.

He did his formation at the San Pablo Theological Institute in Brazil; after his ordination he qualified in “Teaching Integral Education”, at the Pedagogical University Institute “Msgr. Arias Blanco”, IUPMA, in Caracas.

He was chaplain in the Pius XII College in Puerto La Cruz; he was then Rector of “San Luis” Institute in Mérida, Rector and Parish Priest in the “María Auxiliadora” parish in Caracas and, since 2015, parish priest in the San Juan Bosco parish in Altamira.

In the Province of Venezuela he was Councillor (2003-2004) and Economer (2004-2009).
