Among the programs they visited were the “San Patricio Laboratory-School” in San Bartolo (TESPA), the “Mi Patio” Reference Center in Chillogallo, and the “Don Bosco” Educational Farm in Ambato. At TESPA, the representatives of Jóvenes y Desarrollo closely observed the work carried out in workshops focused on Automotive Electricity, Building Electricity, General Mechanics, Aesthetics and Styling, Tailoring, and Embroidery.
Rafael Garrido, a technical officer at JyD, emphasized the importance of planning the future of these initiatives:
“We appreciate the work being done, and we must always consider future expectations. Next year, this topic will be revisited, and it would be very beneficial if the technical team in Ecuador could start presenting new proposals.”
During the visit, the progress of each program and success stories demonstrating their positive impact on beneficiaries were presented. As a gesture of gratitude, the beneficiaries of the Educational Farm in Ambato gifted products they had cultivated, such as honey, lettuce, zucchini, corn, beans, and cabbage, all grown under the supervision of the technical team.
Additionally, at each center, updates were shared on project progress, planning strategies, and implementation levels. The visits also featured cultural presentations, including traditional dances and artistic performances, highlighting the holistic impact of these programs on education and development.
Fr. Esteban Ortiz, Director of the Salesian Project – Northern Zone, reaffirmed the importance of strengthening these initiatives:
“It is essential to continue reinforcing all these proposals as part of this process, supported by a team that works with great dedication.”
The visit by the two JyD representatives reinforced their commitment to promoting initiatives that enhance the well-being and growth of beneficiaries, paving the way for future collaboration opportunities.
