(ANS – Quito) – The Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) of Ecuador reaffirms its commitment to education and social inclusion by signing four inter-institutional agreements with the Salesian Project Ecuador and its four Salesian foundations. These strategic alliances aim to promote technical training and the overall development of children, adolescents, and young people in vulnerable situations.

The event took place at the "El Girón" campus in Quito and once again emphasized UPS’s dedication to education and social inclusion.

The agreements were signed with the “Fundación Proyecto Salesiano Guayaquil,” the “Fundación Proyecto Salesiano Zona Norte,” the “Fundación Proyecto Salesiano Costa Norte,” and the “Fundación Salesiana PACES.” These agreements will strengthen the educational and training programs already developed by the respective projects and facilitate an autonomous and dignified social integration for at-risk populations.

The event was attended by key authorities from the Salesian community and UPS Ecuador, who expressed their support for these initiatives. Notable attendees included: Fr. Marcelo Farfán, Inspector of the Salesians in Ecuador; Fr. Juan Cárdenas, Rector of UPS; Dr. María Sol Villagómez, Vice-Rector of the Quito campus; Fr. Esteban Ortíz, Director of the Salesian Project North Zone; Fr. Robert García, Director of the Salesian Project North Cost; Fr. Mario Ramos Segovia, Director of the Salesian Project Guayaquil; Eng. Ana Lucía Pesántez, Director of the Salesian Project PACES in Cuenca; and Dr. Nancy Bastidas, Technical Director of the Quito campus.

"These agreements represent hope for many children, adolescents, and young people in vulnerable situations. Education is the key to opening new opportunities and changing lives," he stated.

For their part, the representatives of Proyecto Salesiano Ecuador expressed their gratitude to the UPS authorities and renewed their commitment to continue working for the well-being of children, adolescents, young people, and their families facing vulnerability and exclusion.
