Italy – "Awaited by his love": the Salesian Youth Movement Workbook 2024/2025 is ready

13 May 2024

(ANS – Rome) – As a result of the work of the National Council of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) and the SYM National Secretariat, the Salesian Youth Movement Workbook for the year 2024/2025 was prepared by Fr Rossano Sala, Editorial Director of the Salesian publisher Elledici, former Special Secretary of the XV General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the theme "Young people, faith and vocational discernment".

The introductory pages of the text read:

"In the Jubilee pilgrimage we are awaited by his love, we are called to reach and cross the Holy Door that offers us the experience of being awaited, welcomed and embraced by the God of grace and mercy. The experience will be similar to that of the prodigal son who returns to his father's house and becomes aware that he has always been awaited by his love. There he finds joy and hope.

Don Bosco makes a home and takes in the first young people he meets in the prison and in the degraded suburbs of Turin. He offers them the experience of the oratory, which for all those who attend it is family and parish. Family for those who have no family and parish for those who have no parish. God's love is there in the Oratory, waiting, welcoming, listening and embracing. There the young people are awaited by his love. There they find life and hope again.”
