The 'Foundation for Catholic Healthcare' is a 'body linked to the Holy See', a body that intervenes to support Catholic healthcare facilities,d when needed.
Commenting to ANS on his recent appointment, Fr Piccinotti said: “I am very grateful to the Pope and to the Holy See for the trust and opportunity given to me to serve the Church through these delicate assignments. For my part, I will do everything I can, to fulfil my duties to the best of my ability”.
Fr Giordano Piccinotti was born on 23 February 1975 in Manerbio, Italy. He holds a Licentiate in Spiritual Theology from the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome. He was Economer of the Salesian houses in Lugano, from 2007 to 2011 and from 2016 to 2017; and of the "San Carlo" centre in Milan, from 2011 to 2015; he also held the role of Provincial Economer, in the sexennium 2011-2017.
He has also held various other offices, such as Director of the 'Fondazione Opera Don Bosco nel Mondo' in Lugano, Switzerland; Procurator of the 'Fondazione Istituto Elvetico Opera Don Bosco’ in Lugano; Executive Director of the 'Fondazione Opera Don Bosco Onlus' in Milan, Italy; Council Member of the 'Stiftung Don Bosco in Der Welt' in Schaan, Liechtenstein; Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the NGO 'Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo' (VIS).
Fr. Piccinotti was appointed President of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See, the body in charge of the administration and management of the Vatican's movable and immovable property, as recently as 2 October 2023; and his new appointments as President of the Board of Directors and of the Foundation for Catholic Healthcare entrust him with further tasks of great responsibility and relevance in his service to the Holy See.
