Vatican – Fr Giordano Piccinotti, SDB, appointed Under-Secretary of Administration of Patrimony of Apostolic See

(ANS - Vatican City) - On 6 January 2023, Solemnity of the Epiphany, the Press Office of the Holy See communicated that Holy Father Francis has appointed the Salesian Fr. Giordano Piccinotti as Under-Secretary of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See (APSA). He belongs to the "San Carlo Borromeo" Province of Lombardy-Emilian Italy (ILE).

“In obedience to the Holy Father, we accompany this appointment to the service of the Church with fraternal and heartfelt prayers for Father Giordano. May the Lord support and enlighten,” commented the Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr. Stefano Martoglio, in giving the news to the Provincials.

Fr. Giordano Piccinotti was born on 23 February 1975 in Manerbio, Italy. He carried out his novitiate in Pinerolo between 1997 and 1998, making his first vows on 8 September 1998. On 12 September 2004, he made his perpetual profession in the Salesian Society of San Giovanni Bosco and on 17 June 2006 he received priestly ordination. He obtained a Licentiate in Spiritual Theology at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome (Italy).

He was the Economer of the Salesian houses in Lugano from 2007 to 2011 and from 2016 to 2017; and "San Carlo" in Milan, from 2011 to 2015; and he held the role of Economer also at the provincial level in the six-year period 2011-2017.

He is the Director of the "Fondazione Opera Don Bosco nel Mondo” in Lugano, Switzerland; Mission Officer of the "Fondazione Istituto Helvetico Opera Don Bosco in Lugano"; Executive Director of the “Opera Don Bosco Foundation onlus” in Milan, Italy; Council member of the "Stiftung Don Bosco in Der Welt" in Schaan, Liechtenstein; Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the NGO “International Volunteering for Development” (VIS).
