The meeting, conducted digitally on the Zoom platform, began at 8:30 p.m. Brasilia time, and was coordinated by the head of the Secretariat, Hugo Omar Marinoni, President of the Past Pupils of Argentina. With a few words of welcome, the convener and World Councilor for the Americas, Eduardo Pessoa, thanked everyone for their presence and asked the Delegate of Chile, Nestor Mauricio Muñoz Candia, to lead the opening prayer, with which all the work done was entrusted to God.
Next, the coordinators of the different commissions spoke: the Commission for Ongoing Formation and Spirituality, the Commission for Social Communication, the Commission for Projects and Institutional Support, and the Secretariat for the Americas. The respective representatives thus presented their proposals and work plans, followed each time by a moment of questions and answers, considerations and comments.
Fr Néstor Muñoz congratulated the commissions on the work they are doing and encouraged the coordinators to continue in this effort, because "despite the difficulties of time and communication that there may be, great strides have been made."
"I am pleasantly surprised by the work you are presenting, keep it up, it will be for the good of many," he finally concluded.
Lastly, preparations for the next U.S. Congress, scheduled for 2023, were discussed, with proposals for venues and dates that will be the subject of further reflection and elaborate evaluation.
The Vice President of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco concluded the meeting by thanking and encouraging everyone to continue the work that is being carried out all together in a spirit of synodality.
