This fourth meeting, which comes after the experiences of Pesaro (2014), Palermo (2016), and Falerna (CZ) (2018) and after the long interruption due to the Pandemic event, puts at the center a theme, of welcoming and reception, which launches new challenges to Christians and questions them on the ability to discern and overcome the culture of neglect, abandonment, turning away.
"Jesus of Nazareth, in his earthly life, knew how to welcome men and women that the culture of his time considered 'on the margins' of the life of the chosen people. While aware of the difficulty of discernment, which requires respect for all and claims the primacy of the conscience of each, we want to contribute, through the reflections and testimonies of this Fourth Meeting, to build a culture of welcome and integration, beyond simplistic opening to, but accepting the effort of being faced with difficult questions. To be, even today, the arms of Christ that welcome, receive," say the organizers.
Hence the need to reflect, meditate and make room for listening on the theme.
The introductory reflection shall be led by Father Pino Piva, SJ, who is involved in the pastoral care of the Ignatian Exercises and in spiritual accompaniment. The program also features testimonies of various people, Salesian Cooperators and others, involved in reception.
Bishop Stefano Manetti, Bishop of the Diocese of Chiusi-Chianciano, will celebrate the Eucharist on Saturday.
The Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Giuseppe Buccellato, Regional Delegate of the association, closes the meeting.
