The curriculum of the bachelor's degree, as stated in the statement signed by the Minister of the Environment, Hon. Adrián Peña, "is inspired by the Millennium Goals of the United Nations (UN), and is structured around three axes: care for the person and quality of life, care for others, and care for our planet." The activities proposed in each thematic axis, transversal to the official curriculum, "will focus mainly on environmental problems and issues, allowing the exchange and encounter between young students and reality, seeking the acquisition of the necessary skills to take care of their lives and the planet in all its expressions."
The ministerial resolution emphasizes "the potential impact that this baccalaureate course can have on a socio-environmental level… especially in the education and formation of students as citizens."
The Salesian educational center "St. Francis de Sales" boasts 114 years of service to young people and four years ago implemented an initiative called "Bumerang," aimed at strengthening environmental awareness among both students and educators. In addition to workshops to raise awareness about caring for the Common House, that project also initiated work on waste separation.
