RMG - Conclusion of the General Council's summer session

(ANS - Rome) - As usual, at the end of the summer plenary session of the General Council, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, during the traditional "Good Night" Talk, informed the Salesians of the General House about the work done during the past two months.

The Rector Major began the "Good Night" with the report on the work done by the General Council during this summer session. They reviewed 85 Provincial Chapters, appointed 6 Provincials, 2 Delegation Superiors, 6 Provincial Vicars, 6 Provincial Economers and 143 Rectors.

There were 4 canonical erection of houses: Cat Dam, Esmeraldas, Tbilisi, and Atede Gulu; Two houses canonically closed: Buenaventura and Oulx; Two presences also closed: Dung Kim and Hoang Doc. There were 4 new presences-works that were opened: Olbia, La Rioja, San Luíz de Cáceres, and Shuwoo. A new Vice Province was canonically erected: Africa Congo Congo (ACC), formed by the merger of the Provincial Delegation RDC-West and Congo-Brazzaville.

At the end of the "Good Night", the Rector Major thanked the Departments and the Salesians for their work with the General Council, and for welcoming environment that the Salesian and lay personnel of Pisana offers to more than a thousand persons who annually visit the General House.
