Quito, Ecuador - August 2016 - From July 31st to August 13th, the Rectors of 33 Salesian houses present in various Latin-American countries of Interamerica and America South Cone Regions meet at the Salesian Formation Centre of Quito. The Rectors are attending a course organised by the team of Ongoing Formation of the Salesian Formation Centre and have been visited by Fr. Timothy Ploch, Councillor for Interamerica Region.
San Juan Bautista, USA – August 2016 – From July 31st to August 5th, at “St. Francis Retreat” of San Juan Bautista, in California, there was the annual retreat of the Salesians of the Province of St. Andrew (United States West - SUO). The days were marked by fraternity, sharing and spirituality.
Cairo, Egypt – August 2016 – On Friday, August 5th, there was the conclusion of the course of Italian organised for the students who wish to attend the "Don Bosco Salesian Institute" in Rod el Farag, Cairo. The boys enrolled were 330, divided in 12 classes. On the last day, after the final test, educators and students took part in a great treasure hunt.
Porto Velho, Brazil – July 2016 – For 24 days, in the month of July, Fr. Isley Queiroz, Rector of the community of the Salesian Formation Centre (CESAF), and Wellington Abreu, assistant, accompanied 8 Salesian novices in a missionary pilgrimage of 1265.5 km from Manaus to Porto Velho, to introduce them to the missionary reality of a zone known as “Aroma”, as part of the pastoral work of the Salesian Missionary Province of Manaus.
