Gabutu, Papua New Guinea - September 2016 - On 16 September at the Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS) in Gabutu celebrations for the 41st anniversary of independence of Papua New Guinea took place, with traditional dances and performances. The event was chaired by Fr Angel Sanchez, SDB, Rector of DBTS, and was attended by young people "Bosconians", the institute staff and Salesians.

La Paz, Bolivia – September 2016 - On 10 September, in the presence of civil and religious authorities, Fr Juan Pablo Zabala, SDB, was inaugurated as the new Rector of the Salesian University of Bolivia, at Achachicala - La Paz. Fr Javier Ortiz, Grand Chancellor and Provincial of the Salesians of Bolivia, thanked the former Rector, Fr Thelian Argeo Corona Cortes SDB.
Brussels, Belgium - September 2016 - Three Salesian representatives - Iván Toscano (CNOS-FAP, Italy), Kriztina Juhasz (SZÁMALK, Hungary) and Ángel Gudiña (Don Bosco International) - participated in the Seminar on the Dual System of Professional Training and the sixth meeting of the European Alliance of Apprentices, which took place in Brussels, on 14 and 15 September. They learnt about the opportunities that the European Commission is preparing for Professional Training and Technology in 2016, such as the inclusion of refugees and migrants in training programmes and new opportunities for funding and European Skills Week. The series of events in Europe to be held in Europe from 5 to 9 December will be open to all Salesian centres in Europe who wish to participate.
