Ngozi, Burundi – July 2024 – On 5 July, at the Cathedral of Ngozi, Bishop Georges Bizimana, Bishop of the Diocese of Ngozi, celebrated the conferral of the ministries of reader and the acolyte on a large number of candidates, testifying to the fact that Burundi has many vocations to consecrated life. The next day, 6 July, was a day of joy and grace for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the diocese of Ngozi. The ceremonies began with a long procession and, on the occasion the bishop presented the results achieved by the diocese since its creation, tracing its history and the various pastors who have followed each other over the years, and drawing up a balance sheet in view of a better future. Bishop Bizimana presided over the ordination to the diaconate of 12 candidates and the priestly ordination of 15 deacons. Among the latter, 10 deacons are diocesan, 3 missionaries and 2 Salesians of Don Bosco: Alexandre Majambere and Aaron Rivuzimana. In addition to numerous bishops, priests, men and women religious from various parts of the world, the ceremonies were attended by the country's senior political leaders, including the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of National Defence, the former President of the Republic, Domitien Ndayizeye, as well as other leaders.

Cairo, Egypt – July 2024 - The mission group from the Salesian Province of Southern Italy (IME) has carried out the first week of activity at the Salesian Oratory in Cairo – Zeitun. The summer games bring together young Sudanese migrants and Egyptians, creating moments of joy and sharing. The leaders are dedicating their time with passion to offer an unforgettable experience to all the children and young people at the oratory.

Goma, DR Congo – July 2024 - On Saturday 6 July, thirty-four Salesians of Don Bosco from the St Joseph Delegation of the AFC-EST and two Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) from Goma completed their annual spiritual exercises. It was a retreat full of teachings and characterised by a warm fraternal atmosphere. The Rector Major Emeritus led the retreat, also involving the Superior of the Province of Central Africa (AFC), Fr Guillermo Basañes. The central theme of the retreat was "Being Don Bosco for today's young people". Fr Chávez developed this theme and focused his teaching on the Encyclicals and Apostolic Exhortations of Pope Francis and the dreams of Don Bosco.

Chicago, United States – June 2024 – On Sunday 30 June, over 320 young people and families gathered at Elmcrest Banquets in Elmwood Park, IL, to support the future of Don Bosco's mission in Canada and the Eastern United States. The funds raised during the event will help young people discern the Salesian vocation as religious or priests during their formation/study phase. Fr Riccardo Alejunas, Economer of the Province of the Eastern United States and Canada (SUE), expressed a heartfelt thanks to all the members of the great Salesian Family on behalf of the Salesians of Don Bosco in the St Philip the Apostle Province.
