Camagüey, Cuba - May 2016 – As part of the Second National Day of Salesian Communicators, from May 13 to 15, the city of Camagüey hosted those involved in the social communication sector in the Salesian houses of Cuba. The participants were invited to reflect on the current state of the Ministry of Communication in the Church and especially in the Salesian centers in the country. So far, they have conducted several workshops and developed programs such as "digital journalism", "documentary photography" and photo editing. A presentation of the history and development of Social Communication of the Catholic Church in Cuba and in the Salesian Congregation was also made.
Hong Kong, May 7, 2016: The day after the feast of Saint Dominic Savio, the Department for Vocations & Career Guidance of the Province of China, organized the Annual Vocations Day, which was thrown open to all the young people of the Salesian schools. It began with gymnastic exercises highlighting the importance of 3 important elements for the Youth:- "Health, Holiness and Science". This was then followed a theatrical representation of Saint Dominic Savio and sharing of vocation stories by some among the 14 Salesians present on the occasion. During the Holy mass, Cardinal Joseph Zen Ze-kiun SDB, stressing the importance of temperance and chastity as vital elements for the young along a return to football as a popular sport.
Lwena, Angola - May 2016 - Children who attend the Salesian School & Youth centre continue to be educated through recreational and co-curricular activities during the two-week holiday break from the regular schooling.
Dankotuwa, Sri Lanka - May 2016 - On 15 May there was a gathering of 51 former Salesian seminarians and past pupils of Don Bosco Dankotuwa, chaired by Fr Joseph Almeida, Superior of Sri Lanka, and Fr Felix Mellawarachchy, Economer of the Vice-Province and Provincial Delegate for the Past Pupils.
