Dili, East Timor - May 2016 - At the invitation of Don Manuel Fraile, the Provincial Delegate for Missionary Animation of East Timor, Fr Alfred Maravilla, from the Department for the Missions at the Generalate, Rome, has conducted a visit of missionary animation in the country from 1st to 7th May. During these days, Fr.Maravilla visited the Salesian houses in East Timor and met the post-novices and their Formators at Dili; aspirants and novices with their formators at Fatumaca besides the pre-novices and their formators at Los Palos.

Manta, Ecuador - May 2016 - In spite of the fear of recurring earthquakes, Kerly Cabrera, a girl of 11 years, mounted her bicycle and raced through the streets of the suburb of the city of Manta in search of food for her family. After the earthquake on April 16, most of members of her family, were left without work and Kerly did not hesitate to go out and look for places where aid was distributed. With her collections she supported about 10 people. The professors of the Salesian College of San Jose of Manta, who assisted the people in need around the neighborhood, had it provided Kerly with a bag full of packed food and water.

San Isidro de El General, Costa Rica – May 24th, 2016 – The Salesian Educative Pastoral Community gathered on May 24th to celebrate in a family atmosphere the Eucharist in honour of Mary Help of Christians. The Salesian Cooperators organized the liturgy, which was presided over by the rector, Fr. Sixto Flores, SDB, and was concelebrated by Fr. Francisco Hernández, SDB.
