Mongolia - A successful agricultural experience
Darkhan, Mongolia - October 2019 - In 2004, the Salesian community "Darkhan Don Bosco" started an agricultural experience that over the years has become the "Don Bosco" farm, a wonderful expression of the Salesian ecological movement. Despite agriculture in Mongolia always being a challenge, due to the extreme climate, which goes from +40° C in summer to -40° C in winter, for young people, Don Bosco's lay collaborators and for the Salesian Cooperators, the annual "agro-oratory" is always a gratifying and special source of pride. This year, around 40 children and young people were involved in the Oratorian educational experience with agricultural activities in the morning and educational and recreational activities in the afternoon. A total of 1,600 kg of squash and other varieties of vegetables were harvested, making everyone happy, including the Salesian Youth Center canteen. "Darkhan Don Bosco" is about to enter the global network "Don Bosco Green Alliance".
