India - Career Award for Fr Stephen Mavely, SDB
Guwahati, India - February 2018 - On 12 February, the Salesian Fr Stephen Mavely, Vice Chancellor of the "Assam Don Bosco University" (ADBU), was awarded a career award by the Confederation of Indian Universities. The award was given to him for his important contributions in the specialized areas of educational planning and administration, and in applied research in the fields of art, culture, hygiene, health, ecology, environment and sustainable development, on the basis of academic and professional results. Thanking the Confederation of Indian Universities for the award, Fr Mavely declared that he accepted the award on behalf of the Salesian Congregation, which has been working in North-East India for over 100 years, providing quality education even in the most remote corners of the region.
