India - Exhumation and transfer of Venerable Francesco Convertini's remains
Krishnagar, India - October 2017 - On 21 October, before the bishop of Krishnagar, Msgr Joseph Suren Gomes, and the Provincial of Calcutta, Fr Nirmol Gomes, the mortal remains of Venerable Fr Francesco Convertini were exhumed, recognized, and transferred to the Cathedral of Krishnagar. Fr Convertini, who died in Krishnagar on 11 February 1976, had been buried in the garden in front of the Krishnagar cathedral, and now lies in the cathedral itself. Significant the presence of an official ecclesial and civil delegation from Locorotondo and Cisternino (Italy), Fr Convertini's community of origin, and the Vicar of the South Province, Fr Angelo Draisci.
