Colombia – First Graduating Class of the “Fundación Universitaria Salesiana”

Bogotá, ColombiaMarch 2025 – On March 14, the Fundación Universitaria Salesiana in Bogotá celebrated a historic event: the graduation of its first class of students.

Six young graduates from the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, specializing in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, marked a milestone for the institution and for Salesian education in Colombia. Accompanied by their families and the academic community, these new professionals, carrying the Salesian legacy, are now prepared to apply their knowledge in service to humanity and contribute to the nation's development.

The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Leonardo Gómez Hernández, SDB, Rector of Fundación Universitaria Salesiana, along with distinguished members of the Salesian community, including:

Fr. Luis Mauricio Cuadros, SDB (Secretary General) Fr. Luis Fernando Velandia, SDB (Vice Provincial) Fr. John Jairo Gómez Rúa, SDB (Vice-Rector for Academics) Dr. Wilson Antonio Flórez Vanegas (Vice-Rector for Academics) Dr. Diego Ricardo Muñoz Cendales (Dean of the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences)

During his speech, Fr. Leonardo Gómez Hernández expressed gratitude for this first group of graduates, highlighting their dedication and academic excellence.

Dr. Diego Muñoz shared heartfelt words, recalling the beginnings of the institution and its vision for the future.

The ceremony featured a musical performance by the Don Mario Peresson Tonelli Youth Symphony Band from Campus Don Bosco. Additionally, Dr. Karol Andrea Méndez, a board member of the Colombian Association of Pharmacy Programs (ASCOLPROFAR), delivered a message recognizing the institution’s role in shaping future professionals.

To close the event, families watched an emotional video capturing the most significant moments of the students' academic journey.
