India - Panjim Province Celebrates New Salesian Priests
Panjim, India – December 2024 - In December 2024, the Panjim Province celebrated the ordination of five new Salesian priests. Deacon Joswin D'Souza was ordained by Bishop Aloysius Peter D'Souza on December 17 at Christ the King Church, with a motto reflecting his commitment to serve with humility. The following day, Deacon Royal Fernandes was ordained by Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo at Saint John Bosco Church, expressing gratitude for his vocation. On December 21, Deacons Sheldon Fernandes, Infancio Pires, and Savio Dias were ordained at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima by Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao. In his homily, Cardinal Ferrao highlighted the importance of the priesthood and encouraged the new priests to embody Don Bosco's values of compassion and service. The ordinations, attended by family and friends, showcased the strength of faith and community within the Salesian tradition.
