Hungary – A weekend of faith and friendship for Salesian Leaders

15 November 2024

Budapest, Hungary – November 2024 – The Salesian Youth Movement in Hungary has organised a national meeting for Leaders and Pre-Leaders, called "Tarka", which in Hungarian means "coloured". The event took place from 8 to 10 November, at the esteemed Sts Peter and Paul Elementary School in Óbuda, Budapest, bringing together many young people for a rich and inspiring experience. The meeting was a true celebration of youth, faith and friendship. Through engaging discussions, informal meetings and a series of workshops, young participants were inspired to persevere in their quest for meaningful transformation. The workshops addressed a series of issues, including the mission of the Salesian VIDES NGO in Madagascar, the principles of change and transformation, the progression from couple to family life. The Hungarian delegates who participated in the Salesian Youth Synod also provided valuable food for thought. Other topics covered self-formation, the challenges of becoming a leader and effective strategies to foster connections with others. Young people were encouraged to embrace their unique identities and become agents of positive change in their communities. The weekend was not only time for learning and growth, but also an opportunity to get in touch with other leaders from all over the country. Through shared experiences, fun and prayer, the participants forged lasting ties and deepened their commitment to the Salesian mission.
