Togo - The Salesian Novitiate in Gbodjome hosts the Diocesan Youth Days 2024

Gbodjomé, Togo – April 2024 - In Easter joy and to celebrate the Risen Christ, the young people of the Diocese of Aného celebrated the Diocesan Youth Days (DYD) at the Don Rinaldi Salesian novitiate in Gbodjomé from 5 to 6 April 2024. Under the guidance of the coordinator of youth ministry, Fr John Lokou, SDB, young people from all the parishes of the diocese of Aného set foot on the ground of the novitiate of Gbodjome to celebrate the 27th edition of the DYD. Already on Friday, 5 April, the novitiate courtyard was flooded with numerous young people. The evening included the welcome greeting of the Parish Priest of Gbodjome, Fr Bruno Gossa, SDB, with artistic performances, a caravan of songs in the village and a cultural evening. The meeting of young people was enriched by the presence of Fr Américo Chaquisse, currently on an Extraordinary Visitation on behalf of the Rector Major, to the Province of Southern West Africa (AOS). Saturday, 6 April is marked by the practice of Lectio divina and a conference-discussion on  "The young Catholic Christian, sects and the new world order" by Father Pierre Chanel Affognon, national director of Catholic Education. The 27th edition of the DYD closed with the Mass presided over by Bishop Isaac Jogues Gaglo, bishop of the Diocese of Aneho, with the concelebration of numerous priests who came to accompany the young people from the various parishes.
