Cumbayá, Ecuador – April 2024 - In an atmosphere of fraternity and familiarity, the Provincial Chapter began at the San Patricio Salesian Spirituality Centre Cumbayá, involving Salesians, lay people and young people. Over these days they will discern and reflect on the future of the mission of the Congregation and the Salesian Province of Ecuador (ECU), under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The event began with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Marcelo Farfán, ECU Provincial, which was followed by his presentation of each of the Salesians, the laity and the young participants. The Moderator of the Provincial Chapter, Fr Luis Mosquera, shared a brief report of the pre-Chapter process, the guidelines sent by the Congregation and made a summary of the three core areas of the GC29 that will be the focus of the work on each of the days.
