Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - November 2023 - The inauguration and blessing of a plaque and street named after Bishop Jonas Abib, SDB, founder of Canção Nova, the 25th group of the Salesian Family, took place on 4 November in the Paciência neighbourhood, located in the western area of Rio de Janeiro. The ceremony, presided over by Cardinal Orani João Tempesta, Metropolitan Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, was attended by Councillor Márcio Santos and other authorities from the municipality, the general formator of the Canção Nova community, Vera Reis, members of the group, religious and faithful. The plaque will be placed in a reserved space in the parish 'Nossa Senhora da Conceição Aparecida', in Paciência.
