South Sudan – The Don Bosco mission in Kuajok opens its doors to refugees from Sudan
Kuajok, South Sudan – November 2023 – Due to the war that began on 15 April in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, many people have been forced to flee to safety, seeking refuge in neighbouring countries. With the war still raging, South Sudan is the closest place to reach for many people, with everything they need available. Thus, the Salesians in the Don Bosco mission in Kuajok opened their doors to welcome refugees, responding to their needs and providing primary school facilities to involve children, teaching subjects such as English and mathematics. Salesians have been in Kuajok since 2018 and since then have been taking care of street children and their rehabilitation and running a primary school.
