Italy - Salesian Cooperator Salvatore Giunta ordained Permanent Deacon
Rome, Italy - Dec. 2022 - On Dec. 17, through the imposition of hands and consecratory prayer of Msgr. Mauro Parmeggiani, bishop of Tivoli and Palestrina, Salesian Cooperator Salvatore Giunta, lecturer in Ethical Religious Culture and Tutor at the Vocational Training Center "Teresa Gerini," of CNOS FAP Lazio, was ordained Permanent Deacon. The newly ordained deacon, born in Catania, spent his entire childhood and youth in the Salesian oratory of La Salette, first as an attendee and then as an animator. Moving to Rome for work, he met and married Emanuela, and the two together made the choice to become Salesian Cooperators. In recent years it was natural for Salvatore and his wife to also welcome the vocation to the diaconate, certain that this will serve to bring the 600 pupils, with whom he serves as a teacher in the vocational center, closer to Jesus, using the style of Don Bosco.
