Philippines - 10th Provincial Chapter of Salesian Province of Southern Philippines
Lawaan, Philippines - July 2022 - From July 3 to 9, the 10th Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Province of the Southern Philippines (FIS) was held at the "Don Bosco" Retreat House in Lawaan. It was attended by 28 Salesians, from ten different local communities, along with two lay observers and Fr. Fidel Orendain, FIS Provincial. The chapter was moderated by Salesian Fr. Rooney John Undar. It was a week of rigorous reflection, discernment and study on the life, direction and mission of the Province for the next 3 years. In fact, this Provincial Chapter focused on six specific points: deliberate on issues concerning the Province; decide on actions to be taken for the good functioning of the Province; study the post-Chapter reflections of the 28th General Chapter; address issues of immediate concern; identify the most appropriate means to promote religious and pastoral life; and study how to put into practice the guidelines given by the last General Chapter. With these objectives in mind, the Chapter was held with fruitful interactions and discussions among the chapter members.
