Italy - Second session of Provincial Chapter of Salesians of Sicily
Messina, Italy - June 2022 - The second session of the Provincial Chapter of the Salesian Province of Sicily (ISI) was held from June 2 to 5. Four days were spent by the approximately fifty Capitulars gathered at the "St. Thomas" Theological Institute of Messina amid moments of prayer, discussions, reflection, and, above all, in the adoption of important decisions, with special attention - as stated by the Regulator, Fr. Arnaldo Riggi - "to have a look at the past, to make a careful analysis of the present and to be projected towards the future." In two different moments, Fr. Paolo Caltabiano offered some insights to the Chapter members. The work carried out in four Commissions was an opportunity for further discussion and reflection that prepared both for the approval of several important documents and to offer specific and more precise indications for the final drafting of the new "Provincial Organic Project." Fr. Giovanni D'Andrea, ISI Provincial, thanked everyone for their active participation in the Chapter and reiterated that now Salesians and lay people are called to live together the decisions taken: in the awareness that they are co-responsible in their implementation and that they are called to "flourish where the Lord has planted us" (St. Francis de Sales), thus avoiding the dichotomy between the Gospel and daily life.
