Thomas Menamparampil, SDB, of Fr John Parankimalil, Director of the DBI and of "Don Bosco Communications", various other prominent figures, students of the Institute and a number of guests. This new Bible in Assamese is the fruit of a long ecumenical effort coordinated by Fr Lukose Cheruvalel, SDB, who in his speech thanked all those who contributed to the success of the project, in particular the "Don Bosco Communications" center in Guwahati. Archbishop Moolachira, for his part, thanked the "Bible Society of India" for having compiled the Assamese Bible to very high professional standards.
