Lviv, Ukraine - August 22, 2020 - During an evening Eucharistic celebration, at the Pokrova church of B.V.M. in Lviv (Ukraine), the inauguration ceremony of Fr Mychaylo Chaban as provincial of the "Mary Help of Christians" Vice Province of Ukraine took place. Fr Roman Jachimowicz, Councilor for Central and Northern Europe, presided over the ceremony. Fr Mychaylo is the first Ukrainian in the provincial community of Byzantine Rite of Ukraine elected for this service. At the conclusion of the event, Fr Karol Manik, the previous Superior of the Vice Province, thanked the confreres for the common work carried out in these six years. Also present at the celebration was Fr Marcin Kaznowski, Provincial of the Salesian "St Hyacinth" Province of Krakow, with his confreres and with several members of the Salesian Family and many young people.
