India - "St Michael's Boys' Home" and "Sahaya Matha" Shrine donate to fund to fight COVID-19
Guntur, India - April 8, 2020 - The Salesian work "St Michael's Boys' Home" and the "Sahaya Matha" Shrine, led by the parish priest Fr Medabalimi Balaswamy, involved the parishioners to make a donation of 100,000 Rupees (about 1,200 Euros) to the Relief Fund established by the Minister of the Interior of Andhra Pradesh, Hon. Mekathoti Sucharitha, to fight COVID-19. The donation was delivered to her in her residence in Nava Bharat Nagar, Guntur. In addition, other economic support actions were carried out for the poor in the area; meals were distributed to 100 poor people in collaboration with the diocesan social service center of Guntur; a donation of 10,000 Rupees was made to the "PM Cares Fund"; various facilities were made available and food donations offered to the poor.
