Dimapur, India – 24 February 2017 - Father Cyriac Pulinthanathumalayil, SDB, founder and director of the Don Bosco Youth Centre in Itanagar, received from the Federal Minister of the Interior, Hon. Rajnath Singh, recognition for the excellence of his work with young people. The Don Bosco Youth Centre helps hundreds of young people to find work in the country, through various courses in IT, in hotel studies, aesthetics and English, workshops on retail sales and tourism as well as courses in personality development and leadership.

Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica - February 2017 - On 25 and 26 February, the Don Bosco Centre was invaded by the enthusiastic and cheerful energy of 51 young people who took part in the retreat of initiation of the programme Young in Spirit (EJE). They were accompanied by a team of leaders, a total of over one hundred young people.

Kafubu, R.D. Congo – 26 February 2017 - Young volunteers of the Vides movement (International Women Volunteers for Education and Development) of D.R. Congo, had a day of training on volunteering. They studied the theme that solidarity and service are an expression of mercy. Fr Albert Kabuge, SDB, led the meeting and presided over the celebration of Mass and missionary commissioning.

Guadalajara, Mexico – 1 March 2017 - Ash Wednesday was celebrated in the popular street Paseo Chapultepec of the city of Guadalajara.  In an initiative called "Corridor of Mercy", a group of young people, families and priests offered people who were passing by on the street the opportunity to receive the ashes, and confession.

Tehuacan, Mexico - February 2017 -  The 2017 Inter-Salesian games for Primary Schools were held from 15 to 18 February.  They were attended by about 400 young athletes, accompanied by teachers, Salesians and parents. In an environment of healthy competition and family spirit the young people competed in athletics, football, basketball and volleyball.

Concepcion, Paraguay – 1 March 2017 - Fr Natale Vitali, Councillor for the American Southern Cone Region, presided at the Ash Wednesday ceremony in the St Louis Salesian College where there are 730 students.
