Bogotá, Colombia - October 2017 - Fr Francesco Cereda, Vicar of the Rector Major, is on his Animation Visit to the Bogotá Province (COB) from 21 to 26 October. Fr Cereda has met with the Provincial Council and local directors, and visited the Niño Jesús Salesian center and the Salesian Theologate.

Madrid, Spain - October 2017 - About 2,500 alumni of the Salesians of Atocha gathered on the morning of October 19 for the traditional "Good Morning" at the presentation of the pastoral campaign; its focus, the theme: "The Taste of Happiness." Presiding: Sergio Huerta, the director of the youth center and coordinator of pastoral care; Fr Iñaki Lete, the center's director and pastor; Luis Alberto Guijarro, the college director.

Vanimo, Papua New Guinea - October 2017 - On 21 October, the second Salesian priest of Papua New Guinea, Gilbert Pano, was ordained by Msgr. Cesare Bonivento, PIME, bishop of Vanimo, in the presence of Fr Alfred Maravilla, Provincial of the Vice Province of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands (PGS).

Villarrica, Paraguay - October 2017 - On October 21, Salesian Cristhian Benito Gómez Báez was ordained priest by the laying on of hands of Msgr. Ricardo Valenzuela, bishop of Caacupé.

Amatitán, Mexico - October 2017 - From October 22 to 24, the meeting of the Provincial Delegates of the Salesian Family of the Interamerica Region took place. The event was co-ordinated by Fr Eusebio Muñoz, Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, in the presence of Fr Jayapalan Raphael, delegate for the past pupils of Don Bosco; Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, world spiritual animator of ADMA and Postulator for the Causes of Saints of the SF; Fr Joan Lluís Playá, Central VDB and CDB Assistant; and 26 representatives of all the Provinces of the Interamerica Region. During the meeting, the participants reflected on the reasons for being and feeling part of the Salesian Family founded by Don Bosco; and on the weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of working in this field.

Recife, Brazil - October 2017 - On 23 October, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, Rector Major, presided at the Eucharist in the chapel of the Provincial House during his Animation Visit to Recife (BRE).
