Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic – July 2024 - On Saturday, 20 July, Salesian Leonel Ramos was ordained priest in the parish of Mary Help of Christians in Jarabacoa, by Archbishop Louis Nerval Kébreau, SDB, Archbishop Emeritus of Cap Haitien. Present at the ceremony were Fr José Pastor Ramírez, SDB, Superior of the Salesian Province of the Antilles (ANT), numerous Salesians and members of the Salesian Family, and about 250 young people from the "Felici con Don Bosco" camp, which took place that same weekend.

Asunción, Paraguay – July 2024 – The twenty-first meeting of those responsible for the National Youth Ministry for Latin America and the Caribbean was held from July 15 to 19 on the theme "Young people, I say to you, arise!" The event, organised by the Latin American and Caribbean Episcopal Council (CELAM), was attended by young leaders from 21 countries on the continent as well as special delegations from Korea, Portugal and representatives of the Vatican. The first day began with a significant pilgrimage from the former Metropolitan Seminary to the Cathedral in Asuncíon, where the opening mass of the meeting was celebrated, presided over by Cardinal Adalberto Martínez, Archbishop of Asunción and president of the Episcopal Conference of Paraguay, concelebrated by Archbishop Vincenzo Turturro, Apostolic Nuncio, a dozen bishops from other countries of the continent and over 30 priests. In his homily, Cardinal Martínez expressed his deep gratitude to all those present for their commitment and dedication to Youth Ministry, inviting them to reflect on the different realities and challenges facing the youth of Latin America and the Caribbean today. The main objective of the meeting is to learn about the different situations in Latin America and the Caribbean to generate a transformation in the practice of Youth Ministry. During the days, leaders and representatives made a discernment to establish the new guidelines that will lead Latin American Youth Ministry in the coming years. Its mission is vital to strengthen the community and promote the values of love, justice and solidarity.

Kansebula, DR Congo - July 2024 – From 14 to 20 July, Fr Pascual Chávez Villanueva, Rector Major Emeritus, preached the second annual retreat attended by 54 Salesians in the Assumption Province of Central Africa (AFC), on the theme: "Being Don Bosco for today's young people". This is the second retreat he has preached in the AFC Province, after the first held in the city of Goma for the Salesians of the AFC-EST Delegation. During the six days scheduled for the morning meetings, he explored several topics including the experience of God and the Salesian charism, the grace of unity in the life of the Salesian, the evangelical counsels and consecrated life, fraternal life, Don Bosco's dream at 9 years of age and Mary, Mother Educator of the Faith. And, in the afternoon, he explored with his listeners the depth of Pope Francis' apostolic exhortations. On the last day of the retreat all the Salesians renewed their vows during the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr Guillermo Basañes, Superior of the AFC Province, with the homily  by Fr Chávez.

Panama City, Panama - July 2024 – From 17 to 20 July, the Provincial Commission of the Salesian Family of Central America met at the Monte Alverna retreat house in Panama to plan the Fifth Central American Meeting of the Salesian Family, which will take place from 11 to 13 October in El Salvador. After the pandemic that  seriously affected humanity, and five years since the last meeting, it was appropriate to gather the commission to share, reflect and celebrate together the gift of the charism inherited from Don Bosco in the Salesian Family of Central America. The meeting was a valuable opportunity to renew the commitment to the values and mission of Don Bosco, strengthening the bonds of fraternity and collaboration that characterise the Salesian Family.

Shillong, India – July 2024 – In an effort to combat youth unemployment, the Salesians of the Province of Shillong, India, have undertaken initiatives aimed at facilitating employment, through comprehensive training in various sectors. These training programmes are conducted at places es such as the Don Bosco Technical School in Shillong, the Don Bosco Youth Centre, the DB Tech Nongstoin, Bosco Pnar, the Peace Centre Agartala and others. In addition, collaborations with various companies allow the inclusion of trained people in appropriate roles within these organisations. In this context, there is also the mini-work fair that the Don Bosco Technical School in Shillong organised in collaboration with the Bosco Integrated Development Society, on 22 July. The purpose of this event was to help young people looking for work in the State of Meghalaya. Fr Shining Dkhar, Principal of the school, opened the fair, urging young people to work diligently to achieve economic self-sufficiency, so as to have a positive impact on society. The event, which was attended by Salesians, experts in the field and many young people looking for a job, was attended by several well-known companies, such as Café Sola, Frank Motors and ZN Solution, just to name a few. The presence of these companies highlights their commitment to providing job opportunities to young people.

Ibolo-Obosi, Nigeria – 20 July 2024 – In the Catholic Church of St John Bosco in Ibolo-Obosi, in the state of Anambra, four Salesian deacons were ordained: Geoffrey Abichi, Charles Okafor, Kenneth Okoli and Franklin Ezema. The ceremony was presided over by Bishop Yohanna Bulus, Bishop of the Diocese of Kontangora.
