Madrid, Spain - June 2018 - On 16-17 June, the second meeting to reflect on the "formation of Salesians and lay people in Europe" took place. The meeting is part of a process of reflection that was requested at the last meeting of the Provincials of Europe (December 2016) and that a group of Salesians and lay people is pursuing in the search for reflections and proposals to be made at the next meeting of the Provincials of Europe (December 2018). The group is represented by representatives of the realities of Salesian Europe, of the ministries for Youth, with Fr Fabio Attard, and for the Formation of the Salesian Central Office. The work is entrusted to the coordination of the two Regional Councilors of Europe, Fr Stefano Martoglio, Mediterranean Region, and Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, Central and Northern Europe Region.

Nashik, India - June 2018 - On 11 June, the Salesian community of Divyadaan inaugurated the 2018-2019 Academic Year with a ceremony presided over by Fr Godfrey D'Souza, Provincial of Mumbai (INB). Also present for the occasion were members of the neighboring Salesian communities, Fr. Philip Gonsalves, Provincial of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin (OFM Cap), Fr Savio Silveira, INB Provincial Vicar, and Fr Manuel Murzello, INB Provincial Economer. Fr Robert Pen, Rector of Divyadaan, welcomed the participants and Fr Banzelao Teixeira, Dean, presented the report of the last Academic Year. Subsequently, a conference on climate change was held, marked by interactive discussions, and a book on the environment was presented alongside a number of related initiatives of the Salesians.

San Lorenzo, Paraguay - June 2018 - On June 15 and 16, there was a meeting of the Pastoral Secretariat of the South - Schools, with the participation of the heads of Schools and Vocational Training Centers of the Salesians and of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, its objective to plan actions starting from the final document of the Salesian School Congress in America IV. The representatives of the Schools of the Southern Region, Fabián Otero and Sr. Elena Moragas, coordinated the meeting, accompanied by the representatives of the American Schools, Sister Ivone Goulart and Fr René Santos. On the first day, Msgr. Pedro Jubinville of the diocese of San Pedro, also participated, spoke on the Apostolic Exhortation "Laudato Si'". Subsequently, the challenges for the innovation of the curriculum in the Schools were identified, integrating the "Yo Puedo" project. At the end of the meeting, an announcement was made regarding the new representative of SEPSUR Schools for the Salesians, Rossana Benítez, of Paraguay, and for the FMA, Sr. Patricia Parraguez of Chile, who will assume the position in 2019.

Miejsce Piastowe, Poland - June 2018 - The World Consulting Body of the Salesian Family of the Krakow Province (PLS) took place on June 9 and 10 with the participation of Salesians, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Michelites, Volunteers of Don Bosco and Salesian Cooperators. The meeting was chaired by Fr Adam Parszywka, PLS Provincial, who underlined the importance of sharing common knowledge, mutual cooperation and a common understanding of what can be achieved together for the benefit of young people. The Strenna 2018 of the Rector Major offered the main theme of the meeting. In addition, the theme of the upcoming Synod of Bishops dedicated to young people was also examined in depth and a promise of commitment to greater reciprocal involvement in the coming events of the Salesian Family was made.

Hong Kong, China - June 2018 - On June 13, the "Don Bosco South Asia Youth Services" (DBSAYS) in Hong Kong brought together the Catholic community in the "San Luigi" chapel to celebrate the feast of Saint Anthony along with the families of migrants from India, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. The Eucharist was presided over by Fr Dolphie Sequeira, followed by a luncheon. The "DBSAYS" of Hong Kong was established in 2013 to help young immigrants from South Asia through numerous activities: animation, initiatives in youth centers, seminars, school camps, mathematics, lesson in Cantonese , English and Tamil languages, assistance for street children, swimming lessons, handicrafts and Chinese painting.

Spain - Perpetual professions

Madrid, Spain - June 2018 - Manuel Rupérez and José Luis Gallego made their perpetual profession as Salesians on 16 June in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians. The celebration was presided by Fr Stefano Martoglio, Councilor for the Mediterranean Region, accompanied by the two Provincials of Spain, Fr Juan Carlos Pérez Godoy (SSM) and Fr Ángel Asurmendi (SMX), the Provincial of Portugal, Fr José Aníbal Mendonça, and the Provincial of North Philippines, Fr Paul Bicoming.
