Barcelona, Spain – July 2024 - The afternoon of Tuesday 30 July marked the beginning of an unforgettable adventure for the 600 young people of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) from Spain and Portugal who gathered at the Salesians' house in Martí-Codolar in Barcelona to kick off Campobosco 2024. These boys and girls, full of enthusiasm and ready to immerse themselves in this experience, after settling in the structures of the Salesian work, have forgotten the fatigue of the journey and left room for the excitement of the meetings and the passion for the days that await them. Then came the most anticipated moment of the day, the inauguration of Campobosco, a simple event that took place in the evening, lasted just over an hour, during which the Provinces present were presented and the various teams and young people, sitting in front of the stage, enjoyed a spontaneous musical moment. The participants also learned the official anthem of this edition, composed by "Árbol de Zaqueo", a musical group that will accompany young people during the pilgrimage to the Salesian places in Barcelona and Piedmont. In addition to the greeting from the coordinating team, a first group meeting was also held, followed by activites for groups of origin. The first day ended with the traditional Salesian Goodnight by Sister Charo Ten, Provincial of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Spain.

Pérez Zeledon, Costa Rica – July 2024 - The spirit of solidarity and faith was palpable on the way to the Basilica of Our Lady of Los Angeles in Cartago, in the hot weekend of Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July. Children and young people from the youth groups at the Don Bosco Centre in Pérez Zeledón have joined in an apostolate dedicated to pilgrims who travel long distances every year to pay tribute to the Virgin of Los Angeles, patron saint of Costa Rica, in the so-called "Romería". The pilgrimage, a tradition deeply rooted in Costa Rican culture, sees thousands of faithful walk from their homes to the Basilica. This year the pilgrims' journey brought them to the facilities of the Don Bosco Centre, where the young volunteers were ready to offer their support and encouragement. Every pilgrim who passed through the Don Bosco Centre was welcomed with songs full of joy, messages of greetings and blessings. The young people, with colourful banners and contagious smiles, delivered a snack that not only quenched thirst and hunger, but also comforted the souls of the pilgrims. The pilgrims' journey, a journey of about 280 km from their villages to the feet of the Virgin, is a testimony of devotion and faith. They take about nine days to complete this pilgrimage, an arduous but significant journey. Along the way, small gestures of support, such as those provided by the children and young people of the Don Bosco Centre, become great symbols of community and love for others.

Bogotá, Colombia – July 2024 - The 22nd National Meeting of Salesian Youth Ministry Coordinators took place on 26 and 27 July at the structures of the Salesian University Foundation in Bogotá. The event was held with the aim of strengthening the formation itineraries around a pastoral care that educates to love, with a current interpretative key based on listening to and welcoming the needs of the boys, girls and young people of the works of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) of Colombia. The meeting was attended by 82 people, including lay people, the FMA and the SDB, who met in different formative moments. The central terms of the guidelines were based on the anthropological components of affectivity in the Sacred Scriptures, the accompaniment of the Salesian educator, the loving-kindness of Mother Mazzarello and the applicability of the formative processes proposed in  "A youth ministry that educates to love", by Fr Miguel Ángel García, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, and Antonella Sinagoga. The event was a culminating experience of the work carried out by the Salesian Youth Ministry  Delegates in Colombia over the last three years regarding the affective and sexual component in the Colombian youth population. Likewise, it has served to provide innovative guidance to the Educative and Pastoral Projects in the Salesian Provinces of Colombia regarding the processes of accompaniment of children and young people, to provide them with support tools in the construction of their life projects and in the proper management of their human relationships.
