Chinchwad, India - October 2018 - On 24 October, in the slums of Ajantha Nagar, Chinchwad, India-Mumbai Province, the "Don Bosco Development Society" carried out a traveling exhibition on health risks caused by the use of tobacco. The program, via the sharing of posters, images and information, took place under the auspices of the "Project for the reduction of health risk" supported by "AXA Business Services".

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - October 2018 - The Salesian aspirants of the "Savio Haus", accompanied by the Director, Fr Dominic Kachira, SDB, gave substance to World Mission Day by visiting, on 28 October, the minors of the Bomana prison. In preparation for this appointment the aspirants collected clothes used by seminarians from the nearby Catholic Theological Institute and purchased products for personal hygiene to give to the inmates.

Stony Point, United States – October 2018 - From October 22 to 24, coordinators of youth ministry in our Province gathered at the Don Bosco Retreat Center in Stony Point, N.Y. for the annual CYM Meetings. The primary theme for the meetings was “Salesian Holiness as a response to the needs of the young [and the World].” On the first day, Fr. Tom Dunne led a day of retreat for the 21 participants and four members of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. The second day consisted of formation, which included presentations by Fr. Abraham Feliciano, Fr. Dominic Tran, Fr. James Berning, and Ms. Mariel Cabrera (of St. Benedict Parish in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada). These presentations focused on the current realities of the Church in Canada and the United States. The final day included sessions on practical matters, and time to reflect and share. Throughout the meetings, there was also time for prayer (including morning and evening prayer moments, Confession, Adoration, and daily Mass), reflection, small and large group sharing, and community building.

Ypacaraí, Paraguay - October 2018 - The Salesians Coadjutor Brothers of the America South Cone Region, together with a Coadjutor of the Colombia-Medellín Province, met for their regional meeting. During the meeting, participants discussed two themes: "Communication of Fraternity" and "Brother Zatti". They also shared their respective educational-pastoral experiences. The meeting was led by Fr Delio Mota, Delegate for Formation of the Province of Paraguay, and Fr Gilson Marcos da Silva, of the Brazil-Porto Alegre Province, Coordinator of the Regional Commission for Formation.

Rome, Italy - October 2018 - On October 20 and 21 at the Salesian oratory of the "Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco" the "BorgOlimpiadi 2018" took place, an event that for years was celebrated in October. Gathering children and young people, it is a sporting, joyful and exciting event, which highlighted not only the individual characteristics of the participants, but also fostered the sense of belonging to and being a group via games between the four rival teams: Madagascar, France, Albania and Australia. The event was organized in collaboration with parents, animators and volunteers. The youths of the Vocational Training Center of the Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco prepared meals and snacks for the participants.

Vienna, Austria - October 2018 - On October 13 and 14, over 70 young leaders of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) in Austria gathered at the "Don Bosco Haus" in Vienna to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the "SYM Confronto". In 1988 a group of young people from the Austrian SYM went to Turin for what was the first edition of the "SYM Confronto", on the occasion of the centenary of the death of Don Bosco.
