Bydgoszcz, Poland - November 2018 - On November 9, at the Salesian school "Collegium Salesianum", the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the independence of Poland took place (11 November 1918). It all began with the prayer for the homeland, which was followed by the conference of prof. Sławomir Jóźwiak, of the University of Toruń, on the theme "Circumstances of the Constitution of the Second Republic of Poland", and the solemn Eucharist presided over by Fr Krzysztof Nestoruk, SDB, director of the school. After Mass everyone went to the school square, where they sang together the national anthem and the traditional "Rota" and also performed the dance "Polonez for Independence". On the exact day of the 100th anniversary of the independence of Poland, 11 November, a school representative went to Warsaw to take part in the national festivities.

Medellín, Colombia - November 2018 - From 8 to 12 November the Salesian Province of Colombia-Medellín (COM) received 13 members of the World Past Pupils Presidency and World Delegate Fr Raphael Jayapalan. As part of the annual management review and activity and results report, the members of the World Presidency had the opportunity to learn about the initiatives of the COM Province and its Federation of Past Pupils, led by Fr Mario Restrepo Botero. They were able to visit the great Salesian social center "Ciudad Don Bosco", directed by Fr Rafael Bejarano, which takes care of vulnerable children and young people where several past pupils work in the field of social assistance. The World Past Pupils President, Michal Hort, declared: "This was a meeting full of riches, communion and sharing experiences of life and work of the Past Pupils around the Salesian mission in the world."

Bangkok, Thailand - November 2018 - From 12 to 17 November, Fr Guillermo Basañes, General Councilor for the Missions, is visiting the Salesians and the Salesian Family of the Thailand Province (THA), accompanied by Fr John Bosco Theparat, THA Provincial. Fr Basañes visited the Provincial House of Bangkok and the Center for the Development of the Skills of the Blind of Pakkred; he then continued in the South of the country in the diocese of Surat Thani, where he participated in the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of its foundation; he also visited the "Bangsak Don Bosco Home" and "Phanom Parish" houses. In the next few days Fr Basañes shall visit "Chiang Mai", northern Thailand, and Vientiane, Laos. Then in Cambodia from 20 to 22 November he will take part in the annual meeting of the Missionary Animation Delegates of the East Asia-Oceania Region.

Yamanaka, Japan - November 2018 – Taking place from 15 to 18 November is the Regional Commission for Formation of the Asia East-Oceania Region led by Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, assisted by Fr Silvio Roggia, of the same Dicastery, with the participation of 27 Salesians from 13 Provinces, Vice Provinces and Delegations of the region.

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - November 2018 - On 27 October the Council of the Salesian Family (FS) of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands met to reflect on some points of the FS Identity Card, to evaluate the Days of the FS 2018 , examine some areas of cooperation and plan the activities for 2019. The meeting was chaired by Fr Alfred Maravilla, Superior of the Vice Province of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands (PGS), in the presence of Fr Angel Sánchez, Delegate of the SF.

São Paulo, Brazil - November 2018 - From 9 to 11 November, the 1st National Meeting of Provincial Councils of the Association of Mary Help of Christians took place (ADMA). The event was attended by 25 members of the ADMA Provincial Councils, led by Fr Asídio Deretti, Provincial of Porto Alegre, Fr Sérgio Lúcio Costa, National Animator of ADMA, and the Provincial animators of ADMA, who offered moments of reflection and proposed new challenges for group consolidation and renewal.
