(ANS - Rome) - Don Bosco, seen up close, is well known: he wrote a lot about himself and there are thousands of pages of witnesses, mostly Salesians. But how was he seen outside Salesian houses, in the last ten years of his life and in what was written about him after the council?
(ANS - Munich) - At the Third Meeting of the Missionaries in Europe recently held in Munich in Bavaria, there were five missionary priests ordained this year (4 for the Province of France-Southern Belgium and one for Northern Belgium). They had been sent as missionaries to Europe after their post-novitiate and had done their training and theological studies in their new Provinces.
(ANS – Phnom Penh) – Joseph Sinnott, a Salesian High School student and Eagle Scout, completed a project to collect and repair bicycles for Salesian students in Cambodia. At the end of 2015, 39 bicycles were distributed to students supported by the Don Bosco Children Fund, a Salesian-run organization that assists poor youth between the ages of six and fifteen who are either unable to go to school or have had to drop out due to poverty.

RMG – The experience of Elisée Tuungane Nzibi, from the Central Africa Province (AFC) to the Province of Southern Italy (IME): missionary of the 154th Salesian Missionary Expedition
(ANS – Rome) – Along with the new missionaries, among those who took part in the Corso Germoglio and the 155th Salesian Missionary Expedition, there are three missionaries from past expeditions who had not been able to participate in the course and delivery of the missionary crucifix in the recent past. Among them, Elisé Tuungane Nzibi, a Congolese missionary in the Province of Southern Italy.

Myanmar – Tragedy of Innocent Children in the midst of Armed Conflicts
(ANS – Naypyidaw) - Myanmar finds itself immersed in profound grief and anguish as innocent lives, particularly those of children, continue to be mercilessly lost in the enduring armed conflicts. Families are left devastated by the tragic loss of their loved ones while the relentless violence shows no signs of abating. This week, a heartfelt plea from Myanmar reached our community, shedding light on the heart-wrenching death of a young girl Juliet in a military airstrike, prompting a unified call for prayers and action.

Italy – The chapel of the relics at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin celebrates 90 years and celebrates them with an exhibition on the Shroud
(ANS – Turin) – Again this year, on 14 September, on the occasion of the liturgical feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the day of the Opening of the Crypt, the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Turin hosted an evening dedicated to the Shroud, as part of the "Culture in the Basilica" exhibition, entitled "The Shroud: witness of great love".

United States – Catholic World Day of Migrants and Refugees: Salesian Missions highlights education and social programs
(ANS – New Rochelle) - Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring World Day of Migrants and Refugees. The day, celebrated on Sept. 29, will be the 110th celebration of the day, which was started in 1914 as a way to highlight and express concerns for vulnerable populations of people who have left their homes in search of safety and more opportunity.
