Spain – Panoramic view of the interior of the church in Béjar

Béjar, Spain – A photograph showing a panoramic image of the interior of the church of the ancient Salesian school in Béjar. The image shows a moment of a religious celebration with a large number of faithful, in full, and we can guess that the liturgical celebration belongs to Holy Week, due to the detail of the religious images that are covered with a drape. The date is not specified, but it is worth noting that the priest has his back to the faithful, a practice that predates the liturgical reform of the Second Vatican Council. The Salesian church in Béjar, known as the Church of Mary Help of Christians, has a rich and significant history. It was opened on 12 November 1949 and was part of the old Salesian school. After being closed for more than 20 years, the church reopened its doors on 13 July 2024, after intensive restoration work.
