Until a few years ago, it was isolated from the rest of the country due to an almost non-existent road network and it is therefore economically backward. For years, subsistence agriculture and hunting were the main sources of food but they were highly inadequate in terms of quality and quantity. However, in 1984 the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) arrived n Luwingu.

The 94 participants of the 2017 Team Visit were welcomed in the opening session by Fr John Bosco Thepharat: “Welcome to Thailand, welcome to Hua Hin, welcome to the house of Don Bosco, welcome to your home!”

(ANS – Adelaide) – Adelaide is the capital of South Australia where housing is cheaper for migrants and refugees coming in from many different countries including Burma. There are several factories that employ new settlers who generally work hard without much complaint. The Salesians do not have a permanent presence in the city but they care for the pastoral ministry and support the immigrant communities as far as possible.
