Argentina – Northern Argentina’s Salesian Summer: A Courtyard That Transforms Lives

06 March 2025

Argentina – March 2025 – During January and February, educational and pastoral activities brought together over 1,000 children, teenagers, and young people from the Salesian Province of Northern Argentina (ARN). Known as Salesian Summer, these programs create spaces for encounter, recreation, and formation, inspired by Don Bosco’s charism.

Salesian Summer consists of two key initiatives:

Festive Oratories: Spaces for games, recreation, and faith formation for children and adolescents. Training Experiences: Programs for young leaders of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM), focusing on Salesian identity, faith, and service.

One highlight was “Oratoriazo,” a major event hosted by Don Bosco Parish in Córdoba, which gathered young people for games, reflection, and community building. Additionally, volunteer experiences allowed young leaders to travel to various locations and support Salesian houses, dedicating their time and energy to mentoring children and youth.

Fr. Horacio Barbieri, SDB, Provincial of ARN, expressed his joy:
"I am very grateful for the beautiful month of January the Lord has given us, full of oratory activities, formation, and volunteer activities. I especially appreciate the dedication of the Salesians, lay collaborators, and youth leaders who made this possible."

Salesian Summer is not just about recreation and formation—it is a true reflection of the Salesian spirit.
