In the school workshops, altar servers participated in hands-on activities in carpentry, mechanics, auto electrical work, metalworking, painting, bicycle repair, media and communication, music, cooking, and liturgy. Evenings featured recreational programs and moments of deep spiritual reflection. The SLK Provincial, Fr. Peter Timko, currently attending the CG29 meeting in Turin, sent a video message reminding the altar servers of the importance of the evening examination of conscience.
Slovakia – A Weekend of Community, Training, and Fun for SLK Province Altar Servers
Žilina, Slovakia – March 2025 – The Salesian house in Žilina once again hosted a joyful gathering for altar servers from across Slovakia, held from February 28 to March 2. This year, 150 altar servers and 15 Salesians came together for a weekend filled with community, training, and fun.
The theme of the event, "Missionaries Without Boats," commemorated the 150th anniversary of Don Bosco’s first missionary expedition. Each day, participants attended Mass with inspiring messages and engaged in workshops and conferences designed to enhance their service, spirituality, and practical skills. A major contributor to the event was the St. Joseph the Worker Vocational School, whose animators prepared a diverse program within the school facilities and workshops. Salesian missions in remote areas—including Siberia (Yakutsk), Azerbaijan, and Angola—were also presented.
