(ANS - Rome) - Is it possible to define Artemide Zatti, the Blessed Salesian coadjutor whom Pope Francis will declare a saint next Sunday, Oct. 9, in one word? Probably not, because there are many facets to his multifaceted figure. On the official website created for Zatti's canonization - www.zatti.org - five particular aspects are identified that deserve to be highlighted. Let us discover them together.
(ANS - Rome) - On Thursday afternoon, October 13, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, shall be awarded an honorary degree in Pedagogical Sciences by the University of Palermo. The graduation ceremony will be an opportunity for the Tenth Successor of Don Bosco to illustrate through his Lectio Magistralis "Salesian Pedagogy - present and future."
By reason of his presence in Palermo, moreover, the Rector Major will also take part in a series of other appointments, both animation and institutional.
(ANS - Rome) – The liturgical texts (orational - lectionary - universal prayer) are published for the celebration of the Memory of St. Artemis Zatti, to be used both on the dedicated liturgical day, Nov. 13, and during the celebrations planned in thanksgiving after his canonization, which will take place Sunday, Oct. 9, in Rome.

(ANS - Rome) - On the occasion of the canonization of Blessed Artemide Zatti, Salesian coadjutor, (Boretto 1880 - Viedma 1951) an exhibition, consisting of 17 panels, was designed and produced, entitled: Artemide Zatti. Paradise for a Bicycle. The exhibition is on display at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Rome and will be open from Oct. 1 to 16.

India – INS youth solemnise Don Bosco’s Feast Day with ‘Ka Sur Kynud S-3’ Grand Finale(ANS – Shillong) – The Youth of St John Paul II, Shillong Province, celebrated the Feast Day of St. John Bosco with the Grand Finale of “Ka Sur Kynud, Season 3.” Organised by Don Bosco Media Network Television, the Social Communication Department of the Province, at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong, this two-month-long singing competition, which imitates the global singing competition The Voice, concluded on 31 January 2025, coinciding with the Solemnity of St John Bosco.

United States – CATHOLIC WORLD DAY OF THE SICK: Salesian Missions highlights medical programs for people in need around the globe(ANS – New Rochelle) – Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco, joins Catholic organizations around the globe in honoring the Catholic World Day of the Sick. Every year on Feb. 11, the Pope marks the day with a special message calling for spiritual and physical closeness to all those who are ill.
