(ANS - Córdoba) - The Ordinary General Meeting of Bishops of Southern Spain has given its approval to the opening of the cause of canonization of the Servant of God Carmen Nebot Soldán from the Diocese of Huelva. The woman was a mother who had a deep devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and to the Virgin Mary under the title of Help of Christians. She was born to heaven on 24 March 2007 at La Palma del Condado and since then her reputation for holiness has not stopped growing.
Córdoba, Argentina - October 2016 - The Second National Congress of Mary Help of Christians took place from 8 to 10 October in the Pius X College. The theme was "Mary our Help, show us Jesus". It was attended by 230 people from the various groups of the Salesian Family.
Tainan, Taiwan – 9 October 2016 - In this month of October dedicated to the Holy Rosary, the Tainan parish organized a Living Rosary and a procession in honour of Mary Help of Christians with four statues: the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mary Help of Christians, St Joseph and Don Bosco. The event was attended by about 250 Catholic faithful of the three linguistic communities of the parish Taiwanese, Vietnamese and Filipino.
On 3 October 1915, at the height of World War I, Fr Silvio Porrini, SDB, sent a message of greeting to the superiors; in the bottom of the picture, in which the priest appears with some soldiers around an image of Mary Help of Christians, is written, "From the front line, I send my respectful greetings, asking you to bless me and my regiment."
(ANS – Kep City) – A relic of Mary Help of Christians Parish, once located at 436 East 12th Street in New York City, has reached Don Bosco Hatrans Technical School in Kep Province, Cambodia. It is the beautiful statue of Mary Help of Christians that decorated the facade of the parish school, which was demolished following the parish’s closing by the New York Archdiocese in 2007.
Ramos Mejía, Argentina – May 28th, 2016 – On May 28th, in the house of Ramos Mejía, the traditional pilgrimage of the Oratories of the Northern, Eastern and Southern zones of the city of Buenos Aires, was celebrated in honor of Mary Help of Christians. Thousands of young people participated in this event, on the theme “Mary is always with you”. The day was animated by a team of the oratories with games, sports, music and songs.

RMG – The missionaries of the 155th Salesian Missionary Expedition: Guy Roger Mutombo Mutshi, from the Vice-Province of Africa Congo Congo (ACC) to the Province of Southern Italy (IME)(ANS – Rome) – The final word from the new Salesian missionaries comes from Congolese Guy Roger, a missionary in the Province of Southern Italy. "My plans and dreams for my missionary life are to live in communion of spirit and action with my Salesian brothers in IME for the salvation of poor and abandoned young people, according to the heart of Don Bosco and to the greater glory of God".

This week, a heartfelt plea from Myanmar reached our community, shedding light on the heart-wrenching death of a young girl Juliet in a military airstrike, prompting a unified call for prayers and action.

Italy - The reform of Technical and Vocational Education at the heart of the debate: a comparison on the development of the vocational chain and the 4+2 model(ANS - Rome) - Over 2.1 billion euro will be invested in 2023 for training and labour policies, of which 70%, 1.4 billion, will be earmarked for vocational training and 30%, 640 million, for active labour policies. These are the figures that will be presented next Thursday, 14 November 2024, at the ‘Sala Zuccari’ at Palazzo Giustiniani in Rome, during the annual seminar organised by the Centro Nazionale Opere Salesiane-Formazione e Aggiornamento Professionale (CNOS-FAP) and the PTSCLAS consultancy firm ‘on vocational training and employment policies.
