04 March 2025

Spain – February 2025 – On February 21, the local leadership teams of the three Salesian social entities in the "Mary Help of Christians" (SMX) Province held their fourth Provincial Meeting online to continue advancing the path outlined in the Strategic Plan for 2023-2029. More than 100 professionals from the Don Bosco Salesianos Social Foundation, Salesianas Sant Jordi, and the FISAT Foundation participated, discussing two main objectives: affective-sexual education and spirituality. The affective-sexual education initiative aims to offer an educational proposal that helps young people grow holistically, addressing cultural and social challenges.

Nacho Beltrán, General Director of FISAT, presented the development of this initiative in alignment with the Youth Ministry Sector, emphasizing the need for a unified Salesian response to this pressing issue. The Future, in-person meetings will address this topic further, equipping educators with skills to accompany young people in social projects.
Regarding spirituality, Pep Alamán, responsible for Social Platform Pastoral Care at Sant Jordi, led a discussion on incorporating spirituality into intervention methodologies. The goal is to foster the spiritual and religious dimension, promote the first proclamation of faith, and encourage faith development among beneficiaries. Participants then worked in groups to integrate spirituality into their planning.

Finally, Fr. Joan Valls, Provincial Councillor for the Salesian SMX Social Platforms, presented updates on the Mary Help of Christians Province, including community changes and the preparations for GC29.
