Guatemala – Indian Ambassador Visits Don Bosco Centers in San Pedro Carchá
San Pedro Carchá, Guatemala – February 2025 – Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, the Indian Ambassador to Guatemala, visited the Don Bosco Center Association at its various locations in Raxruhá, Carchá, and Chamelco, in the department of Alta Verapaz, to strengthen cooperation and support ties. The visit began on February 26 at the Don Bosco Center in Raxruhá, where he delivered a motivational speech to young people. On February 27, the ambassador visited the Don Bosco Center in Carchá, where he presented Fr. Antonio de Groot, SDB, the institution’s founder, with a miniature sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi, a symbol of India. As a token of gratitude, the Don Bosco Center’s Educational Community awarded the ambassador special recognition.The event was attended by special guests, including Fr. Jorge Puthenpura, SDB, founder of Talita Kumi, and Mr. Erwin Alfonso Catún, mayor of San Pedro Carchá. The Don Bosco Center’s educational community thanked the ambassador for his inspiring message to students, in which he emphasized the importance of holistic education as a foundation for personal, community, and social development.
