Chile – Rectors, principals and legal representatives of the Salesian Schools in Chile participate in the Strengthening Day
Santiago, Chile – January 2025 – The Salesian Educational Centre in Alameda hosted the meeting of Rectors, Principals and legal representatives of the Salesian Schools in Chile on 17 and 18 January. The meeting of educational and pastoral leaders began with the Eucharist celebrated in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians presided over by Fr Nelson Moreno, Superior of the Salesian Province of Chile (CIL), and concelebrated by the Provincial Council. The participants gathered in the auditorium were welcomed by Fr David Rivera, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry and Manuel Catalán, Director of the Network of Salesian Schools, who presented the programme of the event. The Provincial presented the educational guidelines for the year 2025, urging participants to work on the practical guidelines that guide action in the country's Salesian schools: improve attendance through awareness programs that highlight the impact of it on learning; improve results in standardised assessments by strengthening teaching methodologies; cohesion and training of management teams; take care of the pastoral nature of the educational proposal and its identity; reflect on the requests of students with specific needs. The Provincial concluded his intervention with two significant actions promoted in recent months at the central level: the strengthening of the Department of Provincial Education and the improvement of economic management. Initiatives developed to strengthen the Salesian educational network. The work of the day continued with the review of data on Salesian educational works, a group work workshop, a presentation on the theme "Teams of High Pastoral and Educational Significance" and a focus group on "Strengthening Teams of High Significance".
