(ANS - Buenos Aires) - Argentina is one of the most developed countries of Latin America, but education, as in all countries of that region, is a problem because "there is still need to improve the quality" according to the Salesians there. They want to promote the right to learn of all children, thus contributing to building a country where everyone can live well. For this they have launched the project "For children to study better."
(ANS – Long Beach) – On Wednesday, January 27, St. John Bosco High School students visited Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Students are part of the Biomedical Pathway at St. John Bosco High School. During their course of study, students gain exposure to many of the major concepts of human medicine and aspire to pursue higher education leading to a career in health care.
Itajaí, Brazil - March 2016 - As part of his Extraordinary Visitation to the Province of Porto Alegre (BPA), Fr Natale Vitali, Councillor for the American Southern Cone Region, visited the Parque Dom Bosco social work which assists over 400 poor children.
(ANS – Cebu City) – On 9 March 2016, during his maiden visit to the Southern Province of the Philippines Province (FIS), the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, SDB first set foot in the island of Negros to visit the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Victorias. This was the first Salesian educational institution founded in 1951. His secretary, Fr Horacio López and Fr Godofredo Atienza, FIS Provincial, accompanied him as the Salesians, their Lay Mission Partners and young people welcomed him with great joy.
