"Argentina has achieved good results in Mathematics and in recent years has improved in science, but there is need to continue to improve the quality of education" according to the Argentine newspaper Perfil.com. Aware that "education creates change" the Salesians in the country have launched their sixth campaign to collect school supplies, under the motto: "for children to study better."
The campaign is not only a gesture of material solidarity, but encourages the adoption of a merciful gaze toward students with few resources, who do not have all the means and materials to adequately follow school lessons. From 7 to 25 March the students of the Salesian schools are busy collecting school supplies which will then be donated to 1,500 school children in the neediest areas of the country, thus enabling many children and adolescents to have the resources and conditions to study well.
In the first phase, the school supplies will go to children from the Don Bosco School in Victorica (La Pampa), Schools of the Vicariate of the Sacred Heart in Barrio Ludueña Rosario (Santa Fe), the "Talleres Don Bosco" in Zapala (Neuquén), the 'Oratorio of Ceferino Namuncurá at Las Heras (Mendoza), the Casa del Niño Don Bosco, (Quilmes, Buenos Aires) and the Student Residence of Santiago del Estero.
